Van Hage – A Garden Centre With A Difference, Ware Hertfordshire

How many times have you heard a little voice from the back seat in the car either demanding food or a toilet.  We now consciously take note of garden centres when we travel as they usually have a cafe, toilets and things for children to look at.  Some of the best even have play areas.

The Van Hage Garden Centre in Ware certainly ticks all the boxes.  It has a free ‘Animal Garden’ with over 300 animals and is also home to the miniature railway run East Herts Miniature Railway Society.  Of course you can always buy some plants and garden bits and pieces as well

Our daughter visited The Van Hage Garden Centre in Ware with her 2 year old daughter and this is what she said.

“Van Hage Garden Centre in Ware is one of the best that we have seen. The site is vast, with plenty of plants and homeware to see and buy.  The cafe serves great hot and cold food, and there are two fantastic attractions for little ones: a small zoo and a miniature steam railway.  Our 2 year old daughter loved it!”

van hage trainThe miniature railway goes around the landscaped gardens and includes a trip over a pond and under a tunnel. There is a small charge; under 2s are free.
