Easy Travel in Newcastle by Metro

My friend Ruth lives in Newcastle upon Tyne and has a gorgeous young grandson living in South Tyneside about 10 miles away from her.

tyne_metroShe told us that the Tyne & Wear Metro system is brilliant for grandparents like her who can’t lift pushchairs in and out of cars.

The system is completely wheelchair accessible, which automatically makes it pram friendly, and pensioners can get a year’s travel for £25.

The ride alone is an adventure for young children, especially the section from her grandson’s place at Brockley Whins to Sunderland, which goes past fields full of grazing horses.

Most of the buses are pushchair accessible, but you need to check with Nexus Travel for particular bus routes.
