The House on the Hill Toy Museum – Stansted

“Look a Dalek”

Another voice piped up “I had one of those”

Peppa Pig might not have made it into the collection yet but the very young will still recognise toys that they have played with at home or with friends.

Papa Joe and Grandma Jacqui kept all sorts of toys (see what we kept) and our grandchildren now play with them.  We spotted several of them in the museum.

Each group that enters the Haunted Manor is given a wind up torch to help them navigate the dark passageways. Papa Joe was very pleased that he had the torch with him.

As the name ‘House On The Hill’ suggests it is an up hill walk to the museum from the main Mounfitchet Castle entrance .

As you walk up to the ‘House On The Hill’ you pass the Dinosaur Encounters, with models of Dinosaurs lurking beside the path.

At the top of the path, you can pretend to be an archaeologist and try hunting for fossils in the archaeology hut just by the entrance to the toy museum.

The children really enjoyed sifting through the sand and finding the buried fossils.
