Deen City Farm and Riding School

deen sheepSpring is here, all the baby animals are arriving at the Deen City Farm and the spring flowers are looking great in their gardens.

What a great time to the visit the farm.  While we were at the there we had great fun peering in all the animal pens and watching all the baby goats, lambs, and pigs.

The farm has a mixture of things to see and do. As we walked in we went by the lovely gardens which are part of the Growing Gardens Project.deen garden Our attention was caught by a hut with a strange roof.  We found out that this was a conservation project and the roof was made from 7000 plastic bottles. Once inside the farm we wandered around looking at the different pens with a large variety of animals. There are also paddocks where you can visit the larger animals.

deen not2If you time your visit carefully you can feed some of the animals using animal food from the farm’s shop.  They also sell eggs from their chickens and other farm produce as well as souvenirs.

Pony rides are available for younger children under 7 providing that they are able to support their own body weight, and be properly fitted with a riding school hat.

There are a lot of activities for children over 8 during school holidays. For more information about Own A Pony Days, Young Farmers Days, Discover the Farm. visit the website.

We combined our visit with a stroll through to Morden Hall Park, who rent the land to Deen City Farm. This is another great place to visit with your grandchildren.
